Real talent or goodness will not be overlooked long; and the great
charm of all power is modesty
.
Humbleness and modesty are keys to furtherance in any social, even personal
aspect of life.
They are worthy embellishments to a person's character.
The society rewards their holder with immense regard and respect; a modest
person enjoys the trust of other people(which may include his teachers,
friends, seniors, neighbours etc), and their faith in his/her genuineness.
At personal level, these qualities help keep overconfidence at bay.
A nugget of wisdom for my fellow Agnelites:
Maintain the characteristics of humility and modesty accompanied by that of
respect towards elders, through all phases of your life.
Even at times of rejection, hold fast to them and you'll surely overcome
disappointments, and receive the best of what you deserve.
I conclude quoting the words of Louisa May Alcott with which I began-
"Conceit spoils the finest genius. There is not much danger that real
talent or goodness will be overlooked long; even if it is, the
consciousness of possessing and using it well should satisfy one, and the
great charm of all power is modesty"
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
